Within the framework of the International Book Fair in Abu Dhabi, several sessions were organized by the National Fund. One of them, under the title "Identity in the Mirror of the Media: from Influences on Belonging", featured an open dialogue with Emirati writer and artist Sakhar Zaraa and the lead session by Maye Menaa.
The second session included a performance by Emirati artist Abdulla Saleh. The moderator was Abdallah Shukheir. The discussion covered Saleh's history in writing, acting, directing, and his significant role in training dozens of Emirati and Arab artists over the past 40 years.
As part of the exhibition stand, special sessions were organized for national identity clubs in schools and universities, as well as regular events related to Emirati heritage and Arabic calligraphic art.
Sakhar Zaraa noted that the media, including in its contemporary form, can convey a clear representation of national identity, deeply rooted in language, values, and history, to the general public, especially the youth. She emphasized that Emirati screens reflect our national sentiment and heritage to our leaders.
Subsequently, artist Abdulla Saleh expressed his pride in participating in discussions at the National Fund stand, highlighting the important role of the fund in supporting Emirati artists and writers, and developing their talents. He noted that creators need such initiatives that contribute to cultural and artistic development, opening up new possibilities for future generations.
